  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog to ensure clarity and alignment with business and customer needs.
  • Work with engineering to refine requirements and support sprint planning activities.

Customer & Market Insights

  • Conduct user interviews, analyze support trends, and gather feedback to understand customer pain points.
  • Review product usage data to identify patterns, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with design to support user flows, prototypes, and UX decisions.
  • Work with engineering throughout the development cycle, ensuring clarity and alignment on scope and objectives.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams to understand core payroll and tax requirements.
  • Coordinate with go-to-market teams to communicate upcoming releases and product updates.

Execution & Delivery

  • Assist in defining release goals and supporting successful feature launches.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies (standups, retros, planning, grooming).
  • Test new features, validate acceptance criteria, and troubleshoot issues when needed.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, or a related role.
  • Exposure to SaaS, HRIS, payroll, or financial/operations software is a plus.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to break complex problems into clear, structured requirements.
  • Basic understanding of agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with API driven products or integrations.
  • Familiarity with small business customer needs.
  • Comfort with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, product analytics platforms).
